ABOUT US
We are one of the oldest and most traditional haciendas in the Coquimbo Region, today converted into an exclusive and unforgettable place to celebrate all kinds of events. Located in the Commune of Monte Patria, just an hour and a half from the City of La Serena, the Hacienda maintains its colonial-style mansion house of more than 3,000 square meters, inserted in a wonderful four-hectare park, showing off its Intact original structure, dating back more than 200 years old. Its lounges, terraces, corridors and 25 rooms are surrounded by a centennial park, polo field and vineyards, which can be seen from every corner of the house.
THE HACIENDA
Hacienda Juntas was, in the past, one of the main estates in the Province of Coquimbo, originally with an area of 16,000 hectares, covering an important part of what was the Diputación de Monterrey (corresponding to the current Commune of Monte Patria).
There are antecedents that go back to the year 1752, the year in which the Spanish Army Captain Don Diego de Rojas Caravantes constituted a “chaplaincy” (old lien) in favor of his legitimate son, Captain Don Diego de Rojas y Lafert. In the deed by which he constituted said chaplaincy, Captain Rojas Caravantes made a brief description of the state, in the following terms:
" ... the estate planted with vines and built, a large ranch and populated by major and minor cattle, four houses and lots and other assets ..."
Other owners of the hacienda were the Genovese Mr. Felipe Masnata; Mr. Samuel Lecaros; and the mining industrialist Nicolás Naranjo. Since 1892 the Hacienda belongs to the Claussen family, and it was completely restored in 1997 by the architect Christian Sagner.
